New Client Information

Finding the veterinarian who will be the perfect fit for your family is an important and sometimes challenging task.

  1. The doctors at Rye Harrison Veterinary Hospital are sought-after for their expertise, and our state-of-the-art facility provides a comfortable environment where complex conditions can be treated with the advanced equipment on-hand.
  2. In addition to veterinary medical services, we offer safe and comfortable boarding for dogs, cats, and exotic pets. An added benefit of boarding with us as opposed to a boarding-only facility, is that pets have access to our trained veterinary staff during their stay.
  3. We have maintained our American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accreditation for many decades, since 1954; this distinction is only held by 17% of animal hospital’s nationally, and is the result of passing stringent standards of excellence.
  4. We’re here for you and your pets, even after-hours. Emergency cases are seen right away during open office hours, and after-hours our doctors are on-call to provide professional veterinary medical advice in the event of an emergency.
  5. If you are the owner of an exotic pet, our practice is one of the most skilled in the area for treatment of exotics, and Dr. Pisciotta is nationally known for his knowledge. In fact, many other veterinarians from hours away refer exotic animal special cases to us. Lovers of birds, reptiles, pocket-pets, and the like can find the knowledge and experience they are looking for in a veterinary doctor with us.

If you are considering trying a new veterinary practice, please call our office staff at 914-921-2000 to schedule an appointment.

To save time when you come in for your pets visit, consider filling out our new client form in advance. This form helps our doctors get to know their new patients. If you prefer, the form will also be available in our reception area upon check in.

What to Expect During Your First Visit

As a new client of our Veterinary Hospital in Rye, you can expect our full attention to your pets’ needs.

When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we’ll usher you into an examination room after checking in your pet.

In most cases, one of our veterinary technicians will start by asking about your pet’s medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor.

Then, one of our veterinarians will examine your pet, ask you further questions and then may recommend diagnostic tests if needed. Once the tests have been run, which can usually be done in the practice, your doctor will discuss a possible diagnosis and treatment plan if warranted.

This is a great time to ask questions. Our veterinary team wants to make sure you’re completely comfortable with the information we’re providing.

Our veterinary technician will likely come back to wrap things up and will provide you with helpful pet care information and answer wellness and care questions for you. Our front desk staff will process your payment and schedule any needed follow up.

Please note: Our goal is to see all our clients and patients on time, and although we have contingencies for emergencies, there will be times where the unexpected will create delays. We will ensure these are minimized as much as possible.

We are excited to meet you and your human and animal family members!
